Welcome

This is the home page of CAPS, a group of organisations deidcated to reducing crime in new Zealand.

Who are we?
CAPS is an organisation of organisations dedicated to reducing New Zealand’s high crime rate and hence reducing the social, economic and international damage that crime is doing to the country. We also focus on all preventable forms of harm in New Zealand Society. CAPS is a registered charitable trust.

Here is a fantastic video of our peaceful march courtesy of Maori TV that shows exactly what CAPS is about - friendship and unity in creating a peaceful society.

Why a new organisation?
With concern about crime from all sectors of the community it has become clear we need an organisation that can speak to government and local bodies with a large united voice in the fight against all crime. We also wish to use this large organisation to work with government to find long term solutions to crime.

Who can join?
We invite all organisations working in the public safety field to join – for example all esthnic organisations, those supporting victims or helping police, government or local bodies to fight crime and keep people safe. If you are not sure if your organisation qualifies, it probably does!

How can I join as an individual?
The best way is to insist that your organisation joins and supports CAPS. Also you can become an affiliate by joining our news list and discussion list – see our web site for details, or email info@caps.org.nz.

Working Together. We believe all people and organisations need to work together to overcome the issues of crime, intimidation and bullying that exist in our country today. Together we can and will do it – united we stand.
